drum roll please...

I actually cooked tonight...from scratch even.

I know it shouldn't be that unusual, but hey, when you're only cooking for one, take out food or those pre-packaged meals are oh so much easier.

I happened upon a recipe for Roasted Vegetables on allrecipes.com and decided to give it a go. It was very easy to make and came out pretty darn good, even if I do say so myself. The combination of different vegetables was perfect, and the sweet potatoes added a touch of sweetness to the dish. If you're looking for a great side dish, I'd highly recommend it.

The picture is one I took of my actual results.

oh my, it is actually healthier when you cook for yourself. Also taste a heck of alot better. That looks pretty good I may have to try it some day.

By any chance, did you cursor down and look on the left-hand side?

yes I did, who is Murray. Is that your play cat?
I also talked to your sister (livingbythebay)yesterday and she claims that she did try to get on this site but couldn't . I told her that you had to walk some people thru it and that she should try again because we needed a picture of her dog.

How come your dish doesn't look anything like the one on the website that you got the recipe from? Anyway, yours actually looks better.

texasgal,
Yes, he is. And so much easier to take care of than a real cat :)

I think the key to starting is to remember to use your full e-mail address when signing on, including the @yahoo.com or @hotmail.com part.

jimmy's mom,
Thank you for the compliment :)

The reason it probably looks different is that every does their own thing with the basic recipe, depending on what's in their fridge at the time. If you go to that site and click on "read reviews" to the right of the recipe, you see people's comments about what they did different...and maybe even if they hated it. You can learn a lot (e.g., don't add as much chili powder as the recipe calls for)

I have to say that the dish did look good. But I am a picky eater as you know soo.

Sooo what? Does that mean you wouldn't try it if your favorite Aunt Migsy made it especially for you? :P~~~
