Going down the rails

I discovered a collection of old trains back in September when I was driving around the backroads of South Jersey. At the time, I was spooked off by a guy who suddenly appeared at one of the train doors, but I've always wanted to go back and take some pictures. And I finally did yesterday.

Admittedly, though, it took me passing it three times before I worked up the courage to stop and ask the fella weed-wacking between the train tracks if it was okay for me to take some pictures. He said sure, as long as I didn't go inside the trains.

There were 30-40 trains, which the weed-wacker guy told me were owned by different people, some individually and some by groups like the historical society. One looked like it was involved in a fire, the paint crackled all over. Some were repainted. Others were rusted through in many places. Most had graffiti of some sort. And one of the cabooses was turned into a place to live by the landowner's son, probably who I got spooked by the first time I came across it.

Here are my favorite shots, but if you would like to see more, you can click here.

The hubby liked the trains. Maybe we'll have to get him his own user name so he can let you know himself. :)

Maybe. By the way, he was asking a guy that he works with where Winslow Junction is. So the guy told him where it was & then proceeded to tell him about this strange woman taking pictures there a few weeks ago. lol What a small world! The guy lives next to Winslow Junction.

You're full of sh**!!!

Even if it was true, I wasn't taking pictures there a few weeks ago, so it WASN'T me! The only thing I did late in September was creep along in my car, trying to figure out what the site was all about without actually getting out of my car.

If your husband wants to know how to get there, all he needs to do is ask me.
